Worshipping Together
We gather on Sundays at 10am, in-person or online through our Facebook live-stream. Masks are optional, but we respect those who wear them. Wondering what to wear? Come as you are comfortable. Suit and tie, jeans and t-shirt… there is no dress code.
Our music is a blend of new songs and some we’ve sung for generations.
Our teaching is focussed on pointing our minds and hearts toward the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in whom “we live, and move, and have our being” (Acts 17:28). We celebrate communion monthly on the first Sunday. On the second Sunday of each month, we get together after the service for Calvary Cafe, and we share a meal after the service on the fourth Sunday of each month.
Children are welcome to be part of our worship and learning. On Sundays, we have age-appropriate activity packs available, and a welcoming quiet space if it’s needed.
Our worship continues the rest of the week, as we work together, care for each other, and enjoy each others’ company.

Accessibility
Our building is fully accessible.
The Ball Street parking lot contains a drop-off zone, ramped entrance, and powered door which leads to the elevator lobby.
The sanctuary is equipped with headphones to assist with hearing during services.
360 – Gaming Night
Following Jesus is a 360 degree proposition.
Once a month, Millennials and GenZed get together to play the games they know, and to talk about this life of faith. Plus, snacks. Bring your skilz and your questions.
One Wednesday evening per month. 7:00 pm. Contact us for dates.

Bible Study and Prayer
All are welcome. Each Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 pm, we meet at the church to discuss and study the Scriptures, dig deeper into the teaching from Sunday morning, or just see where the Spirit leads the conversation. Bring your questions, observations, and experience to the table.
At around 1:45 we change gears, and pray together, sharing gratitude and requests that impact our lives, our community, and our world.
Men’s Coffee
Each Tuesday at 9am, a group of men from several churches get together at a local restaurant (Home Plate, 955 Elgin St. W, Cobourg). For more information, contact Bill Zeran.

Baptist Women
Calvary Baptist Women invite all women to join us. We meet four times a year – on the second Thursday of April, June, October and December. We explore various topics, share Bible passages, and enjoy times of fellowship and refreshments. For further information contact Pam King or Win Hibbins.
Get Fit
We offer two levels of fitness classes led by instructor Carol Bradshaw or Cheryl Langille. Low Impact Chair Exercises are offered Monday mornings 10-11am. Low Impact Combined Exercises offered Thursday mornings 10-11am. To confirm times and days, or to register, email Cheryl.

H.O.P.E.
(Helping Out People Everywhere)
Each month, our Missions and Outreach Team identify an organization (local or global) who are doing work we want to support. Each month, some of our giving is designated to those services and ministries.
In addition, many of our church family actively volunteer in the community – with organizations that provide health care, senior care, environmental care – as well as in the church. We support the work of Canadian Baptist Ministries and the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec.
Knitting Ministry
Our diligent knitters have provided winter hats and scarves, baby-wear, sweaters, and blankets for people in need, as well as prayer shawls that comfort those who are isolated with the reminder that they are remembered, and they are in our prayers.
These items are distributed locally through warming ministries at other churches, as well as across the province through organizations like Daystar Native Outreach, and the Salvation Army.

Street and Homelessness Outreach
Each Sunday after the service, our team provides Sunday Sandwiches: a bag lunch at the front door of the church. During the week we offer practical support (like rides, water, or laundry), friendship, and spiritual care to people of all ages who are often on their own.
In supporting Pastor Ruth’s Street Chaplaincy, we are honoured to work alongside in mutual support with other community agencies (such as Hope and Light Urban Outreach) and volunteers who seek to serve folks dealing with mental illness, addiction, homelessness, family dysfunction, and isolation.
…a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks.
John 4:23 (NIV)
